Here are a few pictures of the PPG R5, Torrance California 2009.

The car was built as a Pace Car for the 1982 Indy 500

This Renault / AMC PPG PACE CAR is the only PPG PACE CAR in private ownership. The cars were usually destroyed following their promotional use in the CART series.
Our car has been disassembled and totally stripped before restoration. We have now repainted the body and improved many features. We have R5 Turbo Title. this car can be registered for street use.
This car was most probably a new Turbo 1, donor car for the PPG design project by Dick Teague.

The Pace car was a complete, engineered "runner" that paced the Indy Car races. then it was taken completely apart for ?? And, that's the way it is today except for concourse body and paint work. Following is partial list of the inventory:

Calipers like new, need new seals.
Rotors like new
Engine cover is there - upper and hinged section
Turbo 1.
gearbox probably 100 miles on it total
Pedals are there.
Exhaust Manifold .
TDC exhaust is there.
Fuel Tanks are in the car.
Injection should be fine, it's bagged up.
Shocks have been rebuilt by Truechoice.
Suspension could be bolted on as is, a arms are plated gold cadmiun, bushings are like new.

The car was for sale at $40,000 US in 2009

Yes, my avatar is a picture of my Sand Car. The car has a LS2 w/blower engine 650HP...... my R5 Turbo 2 is fun to drive, but the sand car is more thrilling

Yes, grew up racing off road desert and short course and then drove road racing for Toyota here in the states.

Again, I apologies for not speaking French.....here in California, we learn Spanish in school.

Is there another thread in the forum that shows and discuss other cars etc. I would like to post some more pictures for people to see of the sand car....it is very interesting, if you have not see the cars up close.
